CSD Group takes on 19 Sydney Light Rail stops

CSD Group has hopped on to New South Wales’ (NSW) integrated transportation network upgrade programme, taking on the steel detailing and BIM services for the Structural Steelwork, Cladding, Electricals, Hydraulics, Roofing, Glazing and Laser scanning where required for 19 new Sydney Light Rail stops.

The new light rail will run through the central business district (CBD) and the south east – the Circular Quay at one end, to Moore Park, then forking off two ways to Randwick and Kingsford.

According to NSW Transport’s Sydney Light Rail fact sheet, about one million additional people are projected to live and work in Sydney in the next 10 years. “The project will generate $3 billion in economic benefit for NSW,” it said. Once operational, the $2.1-billion, 12-kilometre light rail will be able to transport up to 13,500 passengers per hour or 6,750 passengers in each direction between the CBD and the south east from 7am to 7pm.
